We Got It

We got it!!! Raise a glass. It has been insane trying to find a reception venue. Between weddings that were postponed in 2020 and early 2021, and a reported glut of cash that our fellow Americans have been hoarding, venues are hard to come by and expensive when you do. We’ve re-evaluated our “must haves” a few times. We are now down to Plenty of Food, Plenty of Alcohol, and enough chairs.

I almost didn’t bring up this place with Lisa.  I left work early on Monday to stop by an open house near my office. I’ve been taking pride in trying to find a place that can seat 150-200 guests and offers sit down dinners in our price range.  The first half dozen locations we found that had availability were really beautiful locations, but they could only handle 50 to 80 guests. The next round had the seating capacity but were responding to the the free market in a healthy manner, so we needed to move on. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes. Honestly the stress and frustration of venue hunting provided the opportunity to cut to the quick of what really mattered.

For me, as it turns out, nothing was more important than getting married. I wasn't interested in delaying the wedding 1 week just to get a better location for the reception. Being hounded by booking agents eager to convince me that it would be better for me if we got married next October really clarified in my heart that it is about the sacrament, not the booze or the chair covers.

So, we have a venue And there will be plenty of food, alcohol, and chairs! We can not wait to see you there!
